Emily's Continues to Explore

Emily continues to enjoy swimming. She has not yet learned that she can't just walk off the stairs as she is not tall enough to touch the bottom. A couple of days ago while Brieann and I were sitting on the couch we heard something coming from the corner. I went to investigate and what did I find? Emily had somehow climbed up onto the second shelf of a bookshelf. She did not know how to get down.

After the first time Emily climbed up onto the shelf, I thought she had learned her lesson. I was wrong. As you can see she climbed up again and was having a great time sitting there. She continues to climb up onto high things even though she can't get down.

First House: Week 6

The outside is painted. It looks better with the front door and garage door painted. Brieann's new seamless sink looks nice. The faucet will be changed out shortly after we move in.An over view of the kitchen. You can see where the cooktop will go on the right. It will be nice having it out of the reach of Emily's little hands.

I have been tasked with changing out the lights in the powder room downstairs. That will be far down the list of things to do.

First House: Week 5

We visited our house again. We found that they have installed some light fixtures. I have already been tasked with replacing the hanging light over the table. We also have bathroom counters now. We did not order the medicine cabinet in the second bath but they put one in. I guess it's better then them forgetting something.

Our master bath is looking more like a bathroom.

Brieann can't decide if she likes the outside. The coloring of the rock facing is a little bold. The front door will be the color of the shutters and the garage door will be a tan color.

We have a little vegetation in the front yard.

Camping

As it is getting very hot in Vegas we decided to escape the heat and go camping. We went with 3 other couples and their kids. Here we all are sitting around the fire enjoying the dinner Brieann made, dutch oven lasagna and pizza. They were both a big hit with everyone.

Emily also enjoyed her THIRD time camping. We had a hard time keeping an eye on her as she ran around having fun.

Breakfast was just as good as dinner with breakfast burritos. For anyone wondering why the baby Brieann is holding does not look like Emily, it's because it isn't. It's Taylor, one of Emily's favorite friends. It was his first camping trip.

At the time Emily was fast asleep in the tent.

Emily's nap in the morning helped prepare her for some exploring of the area.

I decided to do a little exploring of my own. What good is a large rock if you don't climb up it to see what's at the top?

Emily thought the same thing and tried to follow. As hard as she tried she could not make it up.

I turned the LCD view screen on the camera around for this. Emily thought it was fun waving to herself as she looked at the screen.

This area reminded me of Oak Creek Canyon near Flagstaff. Who knew there was a place like this an hour from where we live?

Emily really enjoys her food. So much so that she can't stuff it in her mouth fast enough. Emily still likes to draw on things, even if it is herself.

Or the wall. This is just one of the several places she decided to show her artistic talent.

Emily is becoming an accomplished climber. She climbs on anything she finds.

But, she still needs to learn the right way to use a stool.

First House: Week 4

The outside of our house has been painted and the roof is on. They still need to finish the rock facing and the trim painting. We even have a driveway and stairs to the front door.

The cabinets are in and they look good. We discovered some damage to them so the builder will have to have them replaced before we move in.

Even so, Brieann is still in love with them as she demonstrates here. Bet you can't tell she's excited.

Brieann takes a look at our "backyard." We now have a wall to separate our yard from our neighbors. We forgot that they were going to put in a small cement pad at the back door. That's one thing less for us to do when we work on the backyard.
