Christmas is about.....Sharing

You know that a big sister loves her little sister when she shares the ENTIRE box of Fruit Loops with her....Only Emily would be so kind.

Sisters

Emily has been adjusting well to her new little sister. Faye spends most of the time sleeping, but occasionally likes to wake up and see what is going on. Emily has been working hard on being a good big sister, which she enjoys being. Emily really likes holding Faye. We just have to watch for when she is done, because when Emily is done, she is DONE.

Emily even has her own baby doll and baby furniture set that she uses to practice for when she gets to help with Faye. Here Emily is feeding her doll. The practice has payed off. Just today Emily helped feed Faye by "sharing" her chocolate chip cookie with her by trying to stick it in Faye's mouth (yea, we found the crumbs in Faye's mouth).

Emily looks forward to the time that Faye is big enough to play with her.

Baby Faye Comes Home

After waiting all day on Monday to bring Faye home, we finally got the OK at 6:30 pm. We had to wait for the pediatrician to discharge us, but she got tied up and never made it. She had to call to release us. We are just glad we did not have to spend another night there. Brieann had a great time decorating Faye's room. We hope she likes purple.

Big sister likes her new baby sister, even if she looks like she is not sure.

Baby Faye Arrives!

After all the waiting Faye finally arrived early this morning. Here is how it went down:

Brieann started to feel contractions around 3 am. The contractions did not start to get painful until about 5:40 am, which is when I woke up. By this time the contractions were about 2 minutes apart. I called Brieann's mom who came with Brieann's sister to watch Emily. We made it to the Hospital around 7 am. The nurse had Brieann change into a gown and then she checked to see how Brieann was dilated, which turned out to be an 8. The delivery room got really busy at that point. They paged the on call doctor and anesthesiologist, but due to a ill conceived marathon that closed down most of the entrances to the hospital the doctor was late getting there.. The nurse tending to Brieann broke her water and 30 seconds later Faye was here. That's about the time the anesthesiologist walked into the room, followed by a quick exit. Faye takes after her big sister in making faces.
Faye also has a full head of dark hair like Emily did when she was born.
